I came back the next day and finished off the brighter colors layered on top.  Palette knife painting is an expression of spirit for me. The richness of my Holbein oils are creamy and knifing them is a pure joyful act for me.  It is the gift I know He gives me and I am joyful doing it. I am  happy  when I am creating and painting.

If you think about it, it is  God's  light and  God's  warmth reaching you... even if through my painting. God always gives to each of us freely our gifts.  We either use them or lose them.  Same with the sunlight... you either enjoy it

No glazing or layering, This was more color blocking. A friend saw it on Facebook and I am sending it her way. It is the FIRST GIVE AWAY  painting  for the season of holidays.  The journey painting it was fun.  I love  painting  something that calls to another person to love.  The painting is going to a home to be loved. I hope to share more of the contents and the exploration I am beginning as I blog each day. Last night, tired as I was, I pulled out the book and read the first chapter.  It really made me sit and think about the 'why' of painting. Focused in thought I began to examine exactly the depth of the gift  God   has given to me. Just looking back over the days and seeing the changes and the unique force that settles in this painting, makes me thankful for the guidance of my inner soul.  With the completion of the  painting  comes a peace and the realization of being finished.   Isn't that the best part of your day when you get done with something and can put it behind you?  Painting  ultimately has a similar completion feeling. Different flavor and message from yesterday's canvas.  There are more changes in store but this allows you to observe the process. One  Horse   Painting  coming together in monochromatic form. At times in this process I begin to feel that panic in the pit of my stomach. I want to literally scrape all the paint off and walk away, but something ties me to the canvas to finish what I began. I will share the process of this  painting  over three days but painfully this is where it began.  When I start things and immediate they become 'odd' I know it requires a brave front and depending on the creative spirit with in to move forward. This  horse   painting  will take on a different view over the next two days, so come back to see more! Teaching... learning... experimenting... climbing out of the box... all important in making art or in living life. Life offers many opportunities to lear
