Then we had rain and 65 degrees.  This week it is back up in the high 90's again.  This is what prompted this painting...the summer heat. There is only vivid bright shades of blue sky, red eyelids when you close your eyes to the brilliant yellow sun... and a tiny bit of green grass in the shade. Couldn't have captured it any better in this contemporary horse painting.  And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,     in the place of justice—wickedness was there. Will have to cure three or four weeks and it will ship to Houston to its new home. This contemporary horse painting flies south in August. I love painting for clients and truly work hard to make the experience memorable. This painting will come with a hard back book covering the painting as it was created. It is all part of the finishing progress. At this time in this contemporary horse painting I am working closely with the decorator and the collector to match up colors from the fabrics and paints in the room. This is often hard for me because I want bits and tastes of many colors. I have finished it up and will post the final image tomorrow. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;     the more knowledge, the more grief. I just heard from a near by collector that came to meet me and pick up her painting, that it was framed and she shared a picture with me: She bought FAN DANCE from me and came by to pick it up and the next week took it to be framed.  It really looks stunning in this double frame with inset blue and a soft white on the outside. This one just called to me to take it's picture late yesterday and I am posting it as my photography and as a celebrated gift to my Mom on her 85th birthday. Mom Today we have family gathering to share a meal and her favorite birthday cake. I am looking forward to seeing all my cousins that have come from far away to celebrate with us. Truly a blessed day for this remarkable woman who has given to the world around her, family, friends and strangers... it did not matter. She gave of her gifts daily. Happy Birthday Mom. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Sometimes the colors seem to take over with acrylics. Using my knife the consistency is different. Oils are smoother and blend like rich creamy icing. Acrylics seem to be more like margarine.  These "painted pony pulls" were created in 2006. From a nude to horses they came and evolved. Each one has it's own personality and individuality. From colors to the actual pull and blend of paint, they all stand strong as contemporary horse paintings. Today we are celebrating my husband's birthday!  I discovered him at age 11, and life gets better and more interesting every single year. Love is patient, love is kind. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is the matching piece. For some reason I remembered it differently....but you can see the match of the colors. This painting went to Mirada Fine Art in Denver and sold that year as well. Looking back I find strength in the Contemporary layout of this horse painting. With the cross tucked snuggly behind and the horse woven through it, the canvas is just divided off center to create interest with the eyes. As I mentioned yesterday, this is completed with 'scraped paint' from what I originally started with, which was a herd of horse gone wild.
