This one just called to me to take it's picture late yesterday and I am posting it as my photography and as a celebrated gift to my Mom on her 85th birthday. Mom Today we have family gathering to share a meal and her favorite birthday cake. I am looking forward to seeing all my cousins that have come from far away to celebrate with us. Truly a blessed day for this remarkable woman who has given to the world around her, family, friends and strangers... it did not matter. She gave of her gifts daily. Happy Birthday Mom. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  Sometimes the colors seem to take over with acrylics. Using my knife the consistency is different. Oils are smoother and blend like rich creamy icing. Acrylics seem to be more like margarine.  These "painted pony pulls" were created in 2006. From a nude to horses they came and evolved. Each one has it's own personality and individuality. From colors to the actual pull and blend of paint, they all stand strong as contemporary horse paintings. Today we are celebrating my husband's birthday!  I discovered him at age 11, and life gets better and more interesting every single year. Love is patient, love is kind. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This is the matching piece. For some reason I remembered it differently....but you can see the match of the colors. This painting went to Mirada Fine Art in Denver and sold that year as well. Looking back I find strength in the Contemporary layout of this horse painting. With the cross tucked snuggly behind and the horse woven through it, the canvas is just divided off center to create interest with the eyes. As I mentioned yesterday, this is completed with 'scraped paint' from what I originally started with, which was a herd of horse gone wild. The colors were from the original large painting that I did not like, so I scraped the canvas and reapplied paint to it and to this canvas. Both in life and on canvas, you have the 'given' and you use it to the best of your ability to make something out of yourself, or in this case out of the scraped paint put back on the canvas.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,     and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. It was only there a short time before it went to a collector in Canada. It seems to be a popular painting because I have seen imitated copies of it this past year.  I remember growing up hearing that phrase, "What goes around comes around". It truly does. Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  The storm blew in so quickly it caught us off guard.  We have had such a drought situation that rain was a word only whispered and remembered from another time in another decade or another universe. North Texas is in extreme drought. As the storm broke mid afternoon the thunder roared and the rain blew out of the southeast almost diagonally like millions of sharp arrows hitting the two story windows in our family room.  The storm lasted about 90 minutes before it lessened and began to dissipate.  I knew I felt like painting and hurried into the studio just as the four o'clock afternoon sun broke through the clouds and the entire yard was filled with vivid colors from the garden, the roses and the green lawn. Sold Available Paintings by Laurie Pace  This painting hangs in a restaurant in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.  I am hoping to make it up there this summer to see it hanging and to enjoy a wonderful meal.  Keeping up with my paintings is hard because there have been so many...but in the past three or four years I have painted less and enjoyed it more. Doing a larger paintings and connecting with the new owners and making the experience special is what makes it so very special. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
